BIM in tunneling - Realisation and solutions of pde Integrale Planung GmbH

Pde Integrale Planung GmbH on BIM-Management and BIM-Modelling of Koralmtunnel

For internationally operating contractors like PORR AG, state-of-the-art BIM workflows for planning and constructing are essential.

The PORR group’s subsidiary pde Integrale Planung GmbH, which specializes in innovative methods for sustainable planning, ensures smooth internal processing of such BIM workflows. This includes the mapping of reality with the help of a digital twin. The 3D model is not only used for internal communication (performance tracking, planning, coordination, ...) but also for swift, reliable and transparent communication with clients, owners and public authorities.

In this webinar recording, we talk to Lisa Wronski and Sezen Acar-Tschunko of pde Integrale Planung GmbH about one of their major recent projects - the Koralm Tunnel in Austria. At a total length of about 33 km, the Koralm Tunnel is one of the longest railroad tunnels in the world, which poses special challenges with regard to axis-based parametric 3D modeling of the tunnel lining, cross and connecting tunnels, widenings etc.

Lisa Wronski and Sezen Acar-Tschunko give us insight into the challenges, problems and solutions, the modeling process as well as various technical details of this monumental construction project.
